FOX and GOOSE GOLF SOCIETY

The Fox & Goose Golf Society is run by it’s members for the pleasure of it’s members. The aims are for all to enjoy the game of golf, whilst participating in a great social event on the day.

We have an AGM in February every year, so its rules and regulations are voted for by the Golfers present…

Our Golf Days start in March and go through the year to December when we have a Christmas Scramble and dinner at the venue chosen…

Golf Days are booked for the second Tuesday in the month, but if necessary Wednesday or Thursday may be used…

Guests are welcome, and usually pay £5 extra towards a guest prize…

Our format for the day consists of…Coffee on arrival at the Venue then full English breakfast…Then play begins…after you finish your round, its into the Clubhouse for a well earned Pint…Then travel back to the Gore Court Arms for more refreshments followed by reading of the results and revealing the Winner of Fox and Goose Winners Shirt…Finally a buffet is Served…

What a Good Day….

We are using the Gore Court Arms as our returning venue as Fox & Goose closed in 2023.

2025 A.G.M this year will be on Tuesday 11th February commencing 8.pm at Gore Court Arms. Things to discuss one being my own position as Treasurer & Handicap secretary. For those that don’t know I'm currently having problems with both arms and shoulder making me unable to play. Waiting for appointment for X-rays and neurologists, how long no idea. I’m still able and willing to carry out my roll with handicap and treasurer and while still able will meet at Gore Court Arms after game presentations.

Our Christmas Dinner was held at The Appleyard on 10th December

21 members booked, Glen Legrys and Ben Bishop failed to show. Apart from complaints that the room was cold on entering I believe everyone  enjoyed their meal and had a good time. The meal was subsidised £3.50 per head from club funds.

The Lynn Berry Trophy winner for 2024 was Paul Bennett with 107 points with Paul Shadlock 2nd with 104 points, Kojo 3rd with 94 points.
